KOKON

Juliette Eröd with 300,000 buttons- in a 6-day installation

Juliette Eröd takes the liberty of doing nothing for 6 days. To do so, she occupies 10m2 in the Quartier Theater im Bahnhof. The audience can drop by at any time, watch her from a comfortable position or simply relax - the pre-Christmas season is raging outside.
Juliette Eröd lives and sleeps, eats and drinks and occupies herself with 300,000 buttons that she has collected over the summer. She has nothing else with her. No cell phone, no computer, no book. But also no fear of being evicted or no longer being able to afford the place she has chosen. A protected space - so safe that she even lets people watch her sleep. She doesn't have to produce anything, doesn't have to entertain, doesn't have to show any achievements to be allowed to stay. She just has to accept that the public will watch her while she passes the time with buttons.

Every evening at 20:00 there is a cocoon talk led by Pia Hierzegger:

on 12.12. with
Barbi Markovic, author
Is she still afraid or did she get her fear off her chest in her latest book "Minihorror"?

on 13:12. with
Leon Ranz, student
The member of the last generation knows what it's like to be confined to a small space. What does freedom mean to him?

on 14.12. with
Anja Stejskal, art therapist
She works with people who withdraw for psychological reasons. What does she see when those affected let her look inside them?

on 15.12. with
Nastia Khlestova, curator (talk in English)
She was forced to flee to Austria because of the war in Ukraine. Does she see her time in Graz as an empty waiting period that needs to be filled until she can return to Kharkiv?

on16.12. with
Ilse Feigl, dentist
She has suffered from insomnia for years, what keeps her awake? Does she sleep better with a good night's sleep?

on 17.12. with
Herwig Straka, Manager
He advises companies and individuals in the field of sport. Can he even afford to be unavailable?

And you need tickets for these cocoon conversations.
